Some Egypt websites not affected in January 2011 by the blackout

January 28th, 2011 No comments

Even though Renesys has reported a comprehensive blackout of the Internet at this time, that does not mean that popular websites have gone down.

Here’s a rundown of some of them:

Fatakat.com, a portal for women (In Arabic). There is a poll about the impact of what is happening.

Youm7.com, a news portal (In Arabic). This is a weekly newspaper published by what is translated as ‘The Egyptian Press Publishing and Advertising’

Filgoal.com, a sports portal. Its Java content is crashing my browser, but I can see it has an English version.

The website of Al-Masry Al-Youm newspaper is very responsive. It contains a worthwhile version in English.

Send us your favorites if you rely on them and we’ll post them here

The K. K. Kingston website in Papua New Guinea offers a detailed description of paper products for institutions and businesses.

With a head office in Lae, the second largest city in PNG, the company offers a detailed catalog of paper products for the local market.

This is an example of a website providing the opportunity to have an up to date source of information for the industries to which it supplies.

Among them, laundry, industrial, and catering markets. To access their online catalog

  • go to their website and skip the introduction by clicking on the ‘skip intro’ option in the bottom right.
  • choose the ‘paper products’ link.
  • then choose the appropriate category to view the pictures and codes of the products on offer
