WordPress plugin that fixes blog ping shortcomings

August 12th, 2010 Leave a comment Go to comments

We have just installed the MaxblogPress ping optimizer plug in.  This is a WordPress plugin that addresses a shortcoming of the original functionality.  The problem in base WordPress installations is that posts are pinged to Ping-O-Matic on any update action and not only when posting.

We tested installation in WordPress Multisite 3.0.1 and enabled the plugin as a network plugin.  It is necessary to register with MaxBlogPress.

The niftiest feature is perhaps the ability to view a log of the ping actions.
